SAFE WALK – Annual 4K
Safe at Home, School and Everywhere in Between
Our 6th Annual 4K Walk, which took place on September 30, 2012 at Western Connecticut State University’s Westside campus, was a great success.
The Safe Walk is our premier event to unite the Community in our mission to end domestic violence and raise much needed funds to support our programs. This year we recognized The Department of Children & Family Services for their outstanding work in our community. In addition, we held our Annual Memorial tribute to honor victims of domestic abuse in our own community, our silent witnesses.
We work hard each year to make this event enjoyable for all of the individuals, families, team and local businesses, with entertainment, food and activities for everyone.
As always, the money raised from this event stays in our community and is used to support our programs and services. We need the support of everyone in the community, so please consider participating at next year's event. Check back in July 2013 for more information.
Volunteers Welcome!
Each year, we look for people to join our Walk Committee for team recruitment (recruit teams from corporations, schools, churches, and throughout the community); coordination of day-of entertainment and activities; and volunteers for the day of the event.
Contact the Women’s Center if you would like to get involved. We welcome all who can help!
